Air Jordan VII (7) Premio – Bin 23 Collection | Sample

Remember that Sneaker News Exclusive Air Jordan VII that featured no branding whatsoever? It resurfaces once more, but with a few changes. Here’s a first look at the Air Jordan VII Premio of the Jordan Brand Bin 23 Collection. This time the logos return to their customary positions on the tongue and ankle collar, and on the heel you will see an interesting tribal-esque graphic with the Bin 23 stamp on the heels. Paired with the colorway of White, Del Sol, Black, Varsity Green, and Challenge Red, the Air Jordan VII Premio features an African theme of sorts – quite a contrast from the ‘high-end’ look achieved by the earlier Jordan Brand Bin 23 releases. This particular pair is designated as a Holiday 2010 sample so a release in the coming months could be possible, although changes could be made. Take a look at the detailed images of the Air Jordan VII Premio after the jump and snag this size 9 sample from d_is_rolling on eBay.

Mos Def signs with Kanye West’s GOOD Music

Kanye West’s creative output already exceeds all other non-convicted rappers, so it begs the question: When does the Chicago MC find time to do anything else? Like, for example, his label GOOD Music, which is flourishing almost as impressively as his career’s resurgence. Already the roster includes the likes of Common, John Legend, Kid Cudi, Big Sean, Consequence, GLC, Mr Hudson, and CyHi Da Prynce, and recently Pusha T of Clipse was also added to the fold. But West isn’t stopping there, as the hip hop mogul has now convinced the equally acclaimed Mos Def to join GOOD Music.

The revelation comes from this month’s issue of XXL, which is dedicated entirely to West and his label. In the article “Monster INC.”, paragraphs are offered on each of the label’s acts. Mos Def’s reads as the following:

“Just as Kanye returned to his roots to scoop up Common, he recently recruited his buddy Brooklyn rapper/singer/actor Mos Def into the GOOD Music fold. Long regarded as a formidable talent by underground devotees and mainstream fans alike, Mos appeared on “Two Words” (from Kanye’s 2005 The College Dropout) and “Drunk and Hot Girls” (from KW’s 2007 Graduation). Since his 1999 solo debut, Black on Both Sides, Mos has increasingly been pushed — whether by generational choices or self-exile — to the fringes of indie, alternative hip hop. Maybe it will take Kanye to reign him in.”

Details stop there, so we don’t yet know what West has planned for Mos Def. However, he has already used the MC’s talents for his recently released G.O.O.D. Friday selection “Lord Lord Lord”....

Lyfe Jennings Sentenced to 3.5 years

The internet is abuzz this evening with word that Lyfe Jennings has been sentenced to 3 years in prison for an offense he committed in Smyrna, Georgia.

While this hasn?t been confirmed by either camps, Lyfe Jennings tweeted this earlier this afternoon:

This will be my last post. To everyone who gave me a chance I am forever in your debt. I have had a fabulous career because of you. All I can say in parting is that I have been honest with yaw. I didn?t sugarcoat a word didn?t hold back a single sylible of my life from yaw. I?ve lived a hundred lives in these 6 yrs so I not only won?t, i don?t have the right to complain. I would like to think that I?ve changed lives by changing my own, tho I can?t be sure. But one thing I am sure of is God gives and takes away in measure. He is fair, just and forever. Amen from aman? Smile, its contageous:)

Jennings, 35, (born Chester Jennings) was attempting to locate the mother of his children, Joy Pound, when he allegedly kicked in the door of a house in Smyrna and later fired a gun in the street. Corporal Milton Lane of the Smyrna Police Department told MTV News that when police arrived on the scene to respond to the shots fired in what they believed was a domestic dispute, they witnessed a red 2005 Corvette leaving the address.

A high-speed pursuit ensued, and Jennings was apprehended after he crashed the car. Once he was stopped, the warrant in the case said he refused a field sobriety test and police smelled ?a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage? coming from his mouth.

Kid Cudi Vs. Wale: More Rap "Beef"

Kid Cudi is taking shots at his old accomplice Wale.

The two rappers who were once thought to be good friends are apparently at a war of words with Cudi lashing out at Wale for being “wack” and insisting that he and Kanye are not fans of his music.

In an interview with Complex, Cudi states that's he's “incomparable” to any other rapper and he didn't take too kindly to a post the D.C. rapper penned comparing himself and his peers to different genres of sports.

“Did you see that Wale interview that he just did, comparing us to sports? Let me clear this up: I'm incomparable to anybody. I don't care how people take that. No one can compete with me. I'm unf*ckwittable; no one can knock me off my sh*t. I'm an unstoppable force, I'm a bullet. My trajectory is to the sky. N*ggas got to do something really spectacular to f*ck with me and my realm, and n*ggas be so bitter that you hear it in their voice.”

When Complex asks Cudi his thoughts on a line Wale dropped in a freestyle referencing to that infamous incident where Cudi punched a fan on stage, a noticeably agitated Cudi calls Wale “wack” saying,

“It wasn't a shot, it's just a simple-a** rhyme by a simple-a** rapper. You can't let that **** faze you. That's one of those raps that just shows the world that you wack. Why would you even use that as a metaphor? Everybody think they Hov. N*ggas ain't got the magic like they think they do; there's only a couple of wizards in this game. I'm a wizard and I know it.”

Cudi also made sure to add in one more jab at the D.C. rapper, this time about his references to Kanye West on tracks. According to Cudi, he and his G.O.O.D. music head don't “f*ck with him musically” and Wale should be less thirsty.

Ouch!

“The last album, I let people dis me, throw out those jabs in their verses and have their little slick remarks. This time around, I'm not f*cking around. I have no time to think about other n*ggas. These other mother*ckers like feeding off another n*gga's energy, so they mention their name. You hear me talk about n*ggas? I don't even talk about Kanye, and that's my homeboy! They talk about Kanye like they're bosom buddies with this n*gga. Talking about "I be in Hawaii"—man, shut the **** up, why you got to tell everybody everything? Then people like Wale get mad that 'Ye ain't give him no beats—'Ye ain't give you no beats because we ain't f*cking with your raps. It's not a conspiracy theory. We don't f*ck with you musically, so we're not going to provide music for you. The sh*t is a service, it's a quality of a certain standard. N*ggas are just so thirsty it's ridiculous. I've been eating humble pie forever, and people still call me an a**hole. These people don't know my f*cking life—now I'm going to give them something to talk about."

Wale subliminally addressed his issues with Cudi on his track “Numbers One” from his More About Nothing mixtape saying,

“Maybe it's on me or brother it's on you/ Or maybe it's they fault that we ain't holla since June/F*ck it we on the move/None of us tryna lose/I am outta this world and you are a ‘Man on The Moon'.”
